Connect an AI app
Your AI app reads your published studies, GEO tracking and social listening as you, read-only. Its answers cite evidence that opens in the portal.
MCP server URL
https://staging.modernevidence.com /mcpHow it works
- 01
Add
Add the server URL to your app as a custom connector or remote MCP server. There’s no API key: the app signs in with OAuth.
- 02
Sign in
The app opens Modern Evidence’s sign-in: your work email, then the code we email you. Already signed in to the portal in that browser? You go straight to step 3.
- 03
Allow
The consent page names the app and your account. Choose the client, then Allow. An app we don’t know shows under its own name, marked Unverified.
- 04
Revoke
Revoke an app in the portal under Settings › Connected apps. Signing out of the portal in that browser also disconnects the apps connected there.
Apps we know
Claude
Web, Desktop and mobile
- On claude.ai or in Claude Desktop, open Customize › Connectors and choose Add custom connector.
- Name it Modern Evidence, paste the server URL, and choose Add.
- Choose Connect, sign in, and Allow.
- It’s in every chat under + › Connectors, in the mobile apps too.
Free plans allow one custom connector. On Team and Enterprise, an Owner adds it under Organization settings › Connectors, then you Connect it.
Claude Code
Terminal
- Add the server:
claude mcp add --transport http modern-evidence --scope user https://staging.modernevidence.com/mcp - In Claude Code, run
/mcp, choose modern-evidence, and sign in in your browser.
Signed in with your Claude account? A connector you added on claude.ai is already there.
- Add the server:
VS Code
GitHub Copilot
- Run MCP: Add Server from the Command Palette and choose HTTP.
- Paste the server URL, enter
modern-evidenceas its ID, and choose where to save it. - When it starts, VS Code opens your browser to sign in.
Or add it to
~/.copilot/mcp-config.json:{ "mcpServers": { "modern-evidence": { "type": "http", "url": "https://staging.modernevidence.com/mcp" } } }On Copilot Business or Enterprise, an admin turns on the MCP servers in Copilot policy first.
ChatGPT
Web
- Open Plugins, choose +, then Add custom MCP server.
- Name it Modern Evidence and paste the server URL. For authentication, choose OAuth with Dynamic Client Registration.
- Tick I understand and want to continue, then choose Create as a plugin.
- Install it, sign in, and type @ in a chat to use it.
Needs Pro, Business, Enterprise or Edu. In a workspace, an admin adds and publishes it.
Other apps
Any MCP app that connects to remote servers with OAuth should work: add the server URL and sign in as above. An app that signs in through a URL scheme of its own can’t connect yet.
